HISTORY

Following a short spell with Gregory Schechter's Festival Klezmer Band, Curtis expanded the Klezmer genre combining his jazz background with his Jewish heritage.

Influenced by the Klezmatics from New York, Stewart Curtis began arranging a variety of Klezmer, Hassidic & Israeli melodies with modern dance grooves in a quirky, humorous yet unique style.
The line up of the band has changed very little since it's conception in a South London jazz club called the Cafe Club back in August 1992.

K-Grooves' debut album was produced by Oom-cha productions in August 1994 and released through Mabley Street productions in November1995 (distributed by Grapevine via Polygram).

Due to the ambiguous style of Curtis' music, K-Groove are able to perform at a wide variety of venues:

March 1998 - Supported Internationally acclaimed Israeli singer Dudu Fischer at Wembley Conference Centre
July 1998 - Appeared on Channel 4 TV arts programme The Warehouse
December 1998 - Supported Nina Simone at the Royal Albert Hall
June 1999 - Performed at the International Islington Festival
Live broadcast for International Spectrum Radio's 10th anniversary celebrations
